Using the Cards to Supercharge Story Ideas, Deepen Characters, & Illuminate Plotlines
This post is for backers only. Please visit Kickstarter.com and log in to read.
Thank you so much to all of you who backed this project for being a part of getting Tarot for Fiction Writers out into the world. I really hope this will be a useful resource in your writing life.
Next, I want to share a bit about what you can expect in the fulfillment process.
1. Kickstarter will transfer over the funds to me, the Project Creator, in 2-3 weeks. As long as the proofs look good, that's when I can start placing orders for paperbacks books, notebooks, and the Tarot Spread Notes Journal.
2. YOU will get a very important email called a "survey" from BackerKit. This is a form for you to pay for your shipping, get a final chance to grab additional add-ons from the campaign, and to tell me WHERE to ship or email your rewards. I do not know your mailing addresses or email addresses, so this is key to getting your rewards to you.
3. I’ll be reminding you about the survey again in future backer updates and on social media since this is so important.
4. I’ll be in touch with updates about the timeline of when to expect your rewards. I’m expecting sticker shipments soon! I’ll share pictures when I receive them and pics of proof copies of the books as they arrive.
5. Those of you who backed tiers or add-ons with consultations, workshops or classes, after all of the surveys are completed and the emails are turned over to me, you will receive an email with a voucher and instructions on how to book your consultation or enroll in your class.
It’s important to submit your responses to your survey as SOON as you can. I need this information to process your rewards. You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to answer your survey.
BackerKit is a super helpful pledge management system that save lots of time by streamlining the survey process, automating data organization, and providing me with pledge management software to make it easy to process the rewards.
In the mean time, if you have any questions, please message me here.
Thank you again. I'm so grateful for all of your support for this project.
Take care,
Jessica
The Cursed Land, Urban Fantasy, Illustrated Hardback Edition
Harper faces an impossible choice: accept the perfect fantasy life the Fae offer and doom her father's soul, or bear the burden of grief and fight to save him and humanity from doom.
Chivalry, romance, tragedy, magic, and revenge come alive in this Camelot-themed special edition series.
Hi everyone,
We're down to the last few hours of the campaign! We're so close to crossing the $9k mark. We'll officially wrap up and toss confetti at 9pm PST tonight. I'm so grateful to all of your for backing and being a part of this.
Several of you asked me to add your countries as shipping destinations for paperbacks. I've done the updates, and you should now be able to choose any of the tiers with paperback as rewards or add-ons to ship to:
Want me to add your country to the shipping list for paperbacks? Please message me here. Even if it's after the campaign closes, I can add a country option in BackerKit, the pledge manager I'll be using to collect addresses and streamline data from the campaign to get you your rewards. My printer and distributor, BookVault is based in the UK, so the only countries I can't ship to are those with trade embargos with the UK government.
We still have spots left in both the Tarot for Fiction Writers 101 Class, and remaining Zoom consultation spots. Here are more details:
This will be a workshop-style class. Each class session will contain time for new material, followed by examples, and time to try out the techniques on your own and get feedback and questions answered.
Want a more hands-on lesson to go deeper in your understanding of how to use tarot prompts? Want guidance as you work through a specific plot, character, other story issue? This is a great add-on, especially if you're a verbal processor. Consultations are very customizable and great to help with YOUR specific questions. You can schedule a one-on-one or book one for you and a writing buddy or group.
Have any last minute questions? Please message me here.
Take care,
Jessica
Hi everyone,
Woo hoo! We've passed $5000 in funding, which means backers at ALL levels will get the bonus reward video lesson on incorporating tarot into your creative process and how to get started working with the cards. I'm excited to make this video and share it with you. We had so much fun with this part at the Capitol Crimes workshop last Saturday.
Have ideas for other video topics you'd like to see as future stretch rewards? Let me know in the comments. Here are some possibilities. I'd love to hear which you'd be most excited to see.
I'll be attending the Author Nation Conference in Las Vegas this November 11-15 and would love to meet up with any of you who will also be there.
If you plan to attend and would like to see me do a Tarot for Fiction Writers workshop at the conference, please submit a speaker suggestion. The organizers are in the process of choosing a speaker slate now. The more interest there is, the more likely the organizers are to make that happen.
Here's the info you can enter into the form fields all in one place, so you can easily copy and paste if you'd like to do so:
I'll also be attending the just announced Writer MBA Conference put on by Monica Leonelle and Russell Nohelty, some of my favorite teachers in the author marketing arena, in March 2025, and would love to meet up with any of you who plan to attend that conference too.
Want to see a tarot workshops at a different conference? Feel free to share my info above with the organizers.
Take care,
Jessica
P.S. Here's more about the Author Nation Conference and their planned programming tracks if you're interested in hearing more.
Hey all,
We've got our first stretch reward posted! If we hit $5,000, that will unlock Using Tarot in Your Creative Process: Getting Started with the Cards video lesson for backers at ALL levels. This video lesson will be a great companion to the info in the book and give you an example of what the process looks like in action.
If you know other writers who might be interested in learning about using tarot in their creative process, please share.
Take care,
Jessica
